Frank Conlon R.I.P.

March 29 2018:

At the liturgical ceremony, parish priest, Fr Michael Brennan, offered his sympathies to Frank's wife, Celia, to his children, Sean and Fiona, to his in-laws, Maria and Richard, to grandchildren, Ava, Rory, Finn, and Saoirse (the latter three travelled from Australia), and siblings, Peggy and PJ.

"It is a time of sadness, but also time to be proud in one's heart for a life lived, as we celebrate Frank's life," he said.

Gifts were presented to the altar as symbols of his life. His granddaughter, Saoirse, presented his tool belt, which represented his gift for carpentry. Ava brought up the Mayo flag, representing Frank's love for Gaelic football and for his home county.

Daughter-in-law, Maria, brought up a photograph of Frank, proposing a toast at her and Sean's wedding, which symbolised Frank's sociable nature, and his love for sharing a drink with his friends in the local.

Fr Pat Donnellan, chaplain to the Galway football team, concelebrated.

Fiona, who is now based in Australia, spoke about her father, how talented he was, and how much he will be missed.

His remains were taken from the church to the sound of 'Nearer My God To Thee', and to his final resting place in Reilig Realt Na Mara, Na Forbacha.

Frank Conlon, Clochscoilte, Bearna, died suddenly on Sunday morning, March 25.

We offer our sincere sympathies to Celia, and to their children, Fiona and Sean, and to his brother and sister, P.J. and Peggy.

His remains will repose at home on Wednesday from 4-8p.m. Removal will take place on Holy Thursday to the Church of Mary Immaculate Queen, Barna, to arrive for Liturgical Ceremony at 11.00 a.m.

He will then be laid to rest in Realt Na Mara Cemetery, Furbo.
