Remembering the ICA
The ICA were an amazing force in the community during the 1980s. They organised so many events, including the annual visit to Santa.
For years, Gearoid Mac Eoin obliged with the cotton wool beard, assisted by his many helpers.
This particular photo was taken in Teach Furbo - now the Connemara Coast Hotel - in 1980. In later years, after the new school was built in Bearna, the festivities moved to the village centre. Lovely to see ICA member, the late Kay Browne, on the far right.

Incidentally, it must have been very cold in there, everyone has their coats on!
