Not Another Cinderella Story

And here we thought our local Cinderella was to be reunited with her missing shoe, but it was not meant to be!

We came across this note on the little green area between the Pier and Mags Boreen. It seemed to have been left by a boy named Charlie - whom we all adore now - for a local girl who had lost her shoe.

Turns out that a group of teenage boys had taken the black Nike shoe from the owner and seemed to discard it. The girl went home with only one shoe. Charlie, however, searched high and low for it, and found it! He had recently bought a pair of Nike runners for himself, so appreciated the value.

He knew where the teenage girl lived, so was on his way to her home to return it (with this note enclosed in a zip lock bag) when he met the same group of teenage boys. They convinced Charlie that they would deliver the shoe to her, but it never arrived. The note and bag were subsequently found dumped between Mags Boreen and Bearna Pier.

So, we are hoping that these boys will be decent enough to find the shoe - which seems to have been discarded - and return it to the owner. Despite searches, there was no sign of it where the note and bag were found.
