Family Appeals to Parents of Local Boys After Home ‘Egged’ Twice in Two Days
A local family has appealed to the parents of local boys responsible for two incidents of ‘egging’ at their Bearna home yesterday and today (Friday).
This incident in Thornberry follows attacks of a similar nature in the community in recent weeks and months. Local boys aged between 11-15 seem to be largely responsible and have been caught on CCTV in some incidences.
“Yesterday (Thursday) at 4.20pm and today between 3-3.30pm, our house was singled out and had eggs thrown at it,” the homeowner told Bearna Beo.
“Gardaí in Salthill station are investigating the incident if anyone has any information or sighted anyone lurking about at these times , please make them aware of it. Doubt we will identify them but hopefully one or all the parents might read it and question what their kids are up to when out and about in the village.”
A new Community Garda has been assigned to the area and the homeowners have requested that she would speak to children of the local national school about criminal damage of this nature.
